Project KIBO - 2D animation

It took me about a year to complete this animation between other commissions. I created animatics, character designs, crowd assets, and a 3D model for environment reference. About half of the run time was animated in Blender's Grease Pencil with backgrounds painted in Clip Studio Paint. I also used Blender to create the reusable crowd assets to share with other team members as PNG sequences and chroma-key-friendly mp4s. During the project I switched fully into Clip Studio Paint. Blender's method of moving the camera was more intuitive to me, but the ink and paint was a little unwieldy compared to CSP. I also used DaVinci Resolve for compositing.
