Project KIBO - Crowd Character Designs

Working on a short animated film which needed some futuristic/alien crowd assets. Using the storyboards by https://twitter.com/kaldraws8280, I brainstormed various character designs that I thought might suit the world. I organized my sketches by types I felt they fit into and tried to pick some that seemed to fit into a seedy robot fight's audience. Other animators also chose characters to use. I drew a pseudo-turnaround for each character we picked and put together this reference image. Process shots below the finished one.
